Checking out external reference files

Checking out external reference files happens automatically when you check out a parent document that uses them and the Advanced File Management add-on is installed on the Kronodoc server. Checking in external references files works the same as checking in normal files as described in Checking in files.

Before you begin

The Advanced File Management add-on must be installed on the Kronodoc server for this procedure. Installation on your computer is optional, but recommended.

  1. In the Documents view, click the file name of the parent file and select subcheckout from the menu that appears. Your browser's File Download dialog box appears. If the Advanced File Management add-on is installed on your computer, the dialog should show the file type as Kronodoc Advanced File Management Archive.
  2. If the Advanced File Management add-on is installed on your computer, click Open. The archive file downloads to your computer and is extracted automatically to the working directories. The parent file opens in the CAD application specified in the Application property of the CAD Properties group.

If the Advanced File Management add-on is not installed on your computer, click Save instead. The archive downloads to your computer where you must extract the contents manually with the appropriate application, for example, WinZip.
